Senior center Cornelius Brown had a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds as the Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team traveled to California (Pa.) and earned a 57-48 PSAC West victory on Wednesday.

SRU limited the Vulcans to just 16 first-half points and 31 percent (14-of-45) from the field for the game.

Malcolm Richardson added 19 points for The Rock (13-11, 8-10).

Women’s Basketball

Slippery Rock scored just four points in the first quarter of a 70-45 loss to the Vulcans.

The Rock shot just 32 percent (20-of-63) from the floor and attempted just two free throws.

Lexi Carpenter scored 14 points for SRU (11-13, 7-11), Ciara Patterson 13 and Mallory Heinle 10.
