CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The United Methodist Church Jurisdictional Conference will be at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, on Saturday.

There will be a red church offering Sunday to support preschool families.

New members will be received Sunday and the youth group will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The First English Lutheran Church community dinner work team will meet at 4 p.m. Monday.

The trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Bible study will resume at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

The baby bottle drive donations for “Change for Life” are due Sunday at Christ’s Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave.

The board of directors will meet following Sunday’s worship service.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School.

The elementary-aged life group (kindergarten through sixth grade) will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays through March 16 at the Rev. Ben Ogle’s home.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., is collecting ground coffee and powdered creamer for the City Rescue Mission in New Castle. Collection boxes will be at both sanctuary entrances through Feb. 28.

The administration and stewardship committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the church library.

The property committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and the session will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Both meetings will be in the assembly room.

Copies of the Lenten devotional book “Seek God for the City” are available in the narthex.

FIRST BAPTIST OF EVANS CITY

First Baptist Church of Evans City, 242 S. Washington St., Evans City, will have a prayer meeting at 9 a.m. Sunday, followed by Christian Living classes and a worship service.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will start two small group studies.

“Animate Faith” will meet at 3:30 p.m. Sundays, starting Sunday. Aimed primarily at Gen Xers and Millenials, the group will address the big questions of faith. No experience with Bible study is necessary.

“Called to Listen, Called to Live” will meet at 10 a.m. Saturdays, starting Saturday, to help those who are looking at a significant life transition.

FIRST PRESBYTERIAN OF BAKERSTOWN

First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, 5825 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, will host Lenten dinners at 6 p.m. and classes at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Feb. 24, as well as on March 2, 9 and 16. There will be groups and activities for adults, high schoolers, middle schoolers and younger school children. Child care will be available from 6:45 to 8 p.m. for infants and children up to age 4.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

The fellowship and service committee of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will meet at 9 a.m. Friday.

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank, will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 18.

The confirmation class will meet at 9 a.m. Sunday.

The newsletter deadline is Monday.

There will be a Lenten dinner at 6 p.m. and a service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Ernie Taylor, Jenny Martin, and Don and Debbie Horstman will provide special music for the Sunday Valentine worship service. Members should wear red for Valentine’s Day.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will have guest pastor the Rev. Deb Crusan deliver the message for the Sunday worship service.

The church office will close at 1:30 p.m. Friday.

The food request for February is peanut butter and jelly.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The stewardship committee of Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, will meet at 7:15 tonightd.

The first Lenten lunch program will be at noon Friday.

The middle school youths will join Bakerstown Church youths in a “Lock-in” Friday through 8 a.m. Saturday.

Communion will be celebrated Sunday at both services.

“GriefShare” will be at 7 p.m. Monday in the library.

GROW will meet at Valencia Presbyterian Church at 6 p.m. Wednesday for dinner. The lesson will be at 7 p.m.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will have a fellowship dinner Sunday after worship.

The youth group will have a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 20.

RIDER LUTHERAN CHURCH

Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, will offer Communion at the Sunday worship service.

The Bible study group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

There will be a Lenten service for all at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will celebrate the Lord’s Supper during the Sunday worship service.

During Lent Saint Andrews will join downtown churches for a series of midweek worship services. St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church will be the host at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, will circulate a sign-up sheet for the annual congregation and dinner on Feb. 21. The sheet will be available before the Sunday worship service.

The cause of the month is the Evans City Community Food Cupboard.

The church council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The BALM Lenten Service will be on Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. and the worship service will be at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Cynthia Baxter.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

The PM Sewing Ministry of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the fellowship hall.

The youth group will sponsor a “Share the Love” rose sale after each service Sunday. Sunday school will have a festival day at 9:30 a.m.

The outreach and evangelism ministry team will lead the Saxony Health Center worship at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Food Bank participation begins at 6 p.m. Monday. This month’s requested donations are soup, spaghetti sauce and cereal.

The AM Sewing Ministry will meet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 18.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will celebrate youth Sunday at the 10:15 a.m. worship service.

The community Lenten worship service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday and a reception will follow the service.

SUMMIT PRESBYTERIAN

Small group studies for all ages will follow the Sunday service at Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive.

THORN CREEK UNITED METHODIST

Thorn Creek United Methodist Church, 142 Rockdale Road, will host Lenten luncheons at noon Tuesdays beginning this week and continuing through March 15. A Lenten meditation will follow the luncheon. For more information, call 724-352-4890.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will offer blood-pressure screening after the 5:30 p.m. Saturday service and before the 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday services.

Adult formation studies will begin during the Sunday school hour.

Youths will meet at 5 p.m. Sunday for SNL at First English Lutheran Church.

The church council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday.

Sisters in Christ will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

There will be a Lenten service at noon Wednesday. There will be a Lenten dinner at 6 p.m. and a service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
