GROVE CITY — Grove City College will host a screening of the movie “Many Beautiful Things” at the Guthrie Theater at 6 p.m. Feb. 27 following Olde Town Grove City’s 7th annual Wine Walk.

The movie follows protagonist Lilias Trotter, an artist in Victorian England who wins the favor of the top art critic but then abandons her success to travel to French Algeria to work with women and children.

The movie is free with a canned good or monetary donation to the Grove City Community Food Pantry, but tickets are required.

[naviga:h3]Registration slated in April at A-C Valley[/naviga:h3]

FOXBURG — Kindergarten registration for the Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District’s 2016-17 school year will occur in April.

Students who turn 5 years old before July 1 are eligible to register. Students must have immunizations completed before the beginning of school.

The district expects to mail information to parents in mid-March, but individuals can call the elementary school office for more information at 724-659-3555.

Registration is scheduled for April 7 to 8. Dates and times for each township will be delivered in the mail.

[naviga:h3]Fish, chicken dinners served during Lent[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Team will serve fish and chicken dinners every Friday during Lent.

The dinners will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Fridays, starting this week and ending March 25, at the department’s fire hall building at 162 Elm St.

The dinners include a choice of fish or chicken, potatoes or french fries, cole slaw, a dinner role, dessert and a beverage. There are dine in, takeout and delivery options available.

The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 7 and younger.
