[naviga:h3]Public meeting slated Thursday[/naviga:h3]

CLEARFIELD TWP — Anyone interested in helping to start a community center at the closed Clearfield Elementary School can attend a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Clearfield Township building, 103 McGrady Road.

It is sponsored by a group led by Dan Mennor, a resident near the closed Clearfield school. Mennor hopes to acquire the closed building for use as a community center.

The group is looking for investors and people willing to help with the project, Mennor said.

[naviga:h3]Shelter reservations to begin[/naviga:h3]

BUTLER TWP — Feb. 26 will be the first day for reserving shelters at Alameda Park.

From 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. that day, reservations can be made at the Butler County Government Center, 124 W. Diamond St., Butler. Then, starting at about 1 p.m., reservations can be made at the park department, 184 Alameda Park Road, Butler Township.

Cash and check will be accepted. Shelters and prices are listed and priced at www.co.butler.pa.us. For information, call the park department at 724-284-5383.
