BUTLER TWP — A man used his 275-pound body to hold down his girlfriend while preventing her getaway during a weekend domestic dispute at their home on Campbell Avenue, police said.

John Prementine, 62, later was arrested but not before he allegedly hit a family member of the woman who tried to intervene.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Prementine on misdemeanor charges of unlawful restraint and simple assault and two summary charges of harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail following arraignment.

Police suspect the defendant attacked 55-year-old Jennie Korn during the domestic disturbance Saturday night.

Korn told police Prementine “held (me) down for almost an hour” by resting his hefty build on her, documents said. While restraining her, he allegedly said, “If we are both going to die, we are going to die together.”

Korn recounted she had a hard time breathing and feared she was going to pass out, police said.

During the altercation, the defendant also kept the alleged victim away from the telephone.

Eventually, three people, including a 28-year-old man who police described as a family member of Korn’s, showed up at the home and saw Prementine on top of the woman.

When the trio stepped in to help, police said, Prementine struck the 28-year-old.
