Man accused of selling fake cocaine in Cranberry

CRANBERRY TWP — A 25-year-old Beaver County man is accused by township police of selling counterfeit cocaine on two occasions.

Michael Vigna of Baden Friday waived to court two felony charges of selling a noncontrolled substance and representing it as a controlled substance and felony criminal use of a communications facility.

Vigna allegedly sold $300 worth of white powder to a police informant working with the Butler County Drug Task Force on Oct. 31 in the parking lot of Marty’s Suburban Bar on Route 19.

On Nov. 26, he allegedly sold more white powder to an informant for $500 in the parking lot of Goodwill on Route 19. Officers made a traffic stop following the second incident and allegedly confiscated 15.5 grams of marijuana.

The state police crime lab in Greensburg determined that neither white powder contained any controlled substances.

Vigna was arrested Dec. 9 and released on his own recognizance.
