Paycheck protection

In a Jan. 29 letter (“Paycheck protection”), Steven Winslow, a Democrat and union attorney, attacked state Rep. Daryl Metcalfe on the Paycheck Protection Act.

I think the writer was trying to mislead the people when he wrote “your paycheck.”

The law does not affect everyone, only state workers and teachers, and all it does is make their unions collect their own fees from their members.

Forget about why the Democrats don’t like Metcalfe. The reason the Republican establishment doesn’t like Metcalfe is he does not bring home the pork, bacon, walking around money or earmarks. He will not participate in the midnight deal-making.

These items are what make Pennsylvania the fifth most corrupt state in the nation.

We can give $2 million to Iron Mountain, a company that is profitable, has a huge tax break on its property taxes and definitely not going anywhere.

At the same time, Pennsylvania failed to retain a company called Kalashnikov USA from leaving Pennsylvania and moving to Florida — and all Florida gave them was $162,000 in qualified target industry incentives.
