Beale nets 24 as Freeport rolls, 69-49

Josh Beale scored 24 points and also grabbed 16 rebounds as the Freeport boys basketball team used a big second half to pull away from Deer Lakes, 69-49.

Kris Keppel added 10 points for the Yellowjackets (9-12, 3-10).

Hank Murphy added 18 points and six steals and Cole Morris scored 14 points to go with 10 assists for Union (14-6).

Austin Heeter scored 14 points and Kody Wolfe added 10 for A-C Valley (5-14).

Matt Corlew, Brendan Lefevre, Cameron Tack, Luke Montag and Luke McEachin all shot 100 in Butler’s win over Plum, 796(56x)-789(44x).

Swimming

Behind two individual wins by Tabitha Donaldson, the Slippery Rock girls beat Oil City 96-72.

Donaldson also swam a leg on the Rockets’ winning 200 medley relay team.

On the boys’ side, Trent Donaldson, Heston Suorsa and Ben Shumway were multiple winners for Slippery Rock in a 71-65 loss to Oil City.
