Butler hockey rolls past Central, 6-1

Trevor Gilliland, Connor Scott and Ben Rodgers each scored twice as Butler overwhelmed Central Catholic 6-1 in high school hockey play Monday at Ice Connection.

Jonathan Fair had a pair of assists and Zach Schnur stopped 18 shots for the Golden Tornado (10-6-1).

Mars 1, Mt. Lebanon 1 — Jonathan Kowalkowski scored for the Planets with 17 seconds left in regulation, forcing the scoreless overtime with the Blue Devils.

Keaton Hanna and Ian Newman both assisted on Mars' lone tally, which came just 27 seconds after Mt. Lebanon scored to make it 1-0.

Tyler Spreng stopped 15 shots for the Planets (13-4-2).

Girls Basketball

Lauren Wasylson scored 16 points as Mars jumped out to a big lead and cruised to a 59-21 win over Knoch.
