Betty A. Rago

Betty A. Rago, 92, of Butler died Tuesday morning at VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born Oct. 22, 1923, in Turtle Creek, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Bolte and Stella (McCollough) Bolte.

Betty was a homemaker and was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman, where she volunteered for card parties and parish fish fries. She was also an active member of Butler County ARC.

Surviving are her three sons, David M. (Marilyn) Frye of Kittanning, Kevin P. (Paula) Frye of Mobile, Ala., and James M. (Tammy) Frye of Butler; one daughter, Janet A. (Fred) McIntyre of Evans City; 10 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; five brothers, Joseph Bolte of Massachusetts, George Bolte of Sarver, Vincent Bolte of Arkansas, Daniel Bolte of Butler and Henry Bolte of Massachusetts; four sisters, Virginia Smith, Nancy Kradel, Rita Rozic and Leona Shearer, all of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Merle Frye, who died June 3, 1973, and Thomas Rago Sr., who died Jan. 22, 1995; one daughter, Linda M. Frye; two brothers, John and Harold Bolte; one sister, Cecelia Bronder; and one infant brother and one infant sister.

RAGO — Friends of Betty A. Rago, who died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.
