Knoch handles Burrell on road

Beale hits 1,000 in Freeport loss

Mac Christy scored 15 points Tuesday night as Knoch's boys basketball team posted a key 55-49 section road win at Burrell.

The Knights improved to 6-4 overall, 3-2 in Section 1-AAA. Knoch took a 3-point lead into the fourth quarter and scored 19 points in the final frame.

Butler plays at Burrell tonight.

Bauman is the only other Freeport boy to score 1,000 points. He reached the milestone in 2002.

Ben Rodgers, Cameron Barto, Brendan Ackleson and Connor Scott also scored for the Golden Tornado. Zachary Schnur had 19 saves for Butler as the Tornado enjoyed a 35-21 edge in shots on goal.
