Lela Joyce Schweinsberg

Lela Joyce Schweinsberg, 84, of Butler passed away Sunday at the Evergreen Nursing Center.

She was born Dec. 15, 1931, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late George Charles and Pearl (Dawson) Schweinsberg.

Joyce had lived in Los Angeles, Calif., for 31 years, where she worked as an accountant for the California Medical Center.

She was a graduate of Butler High School in 1950 and a former member of St. Marks Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed reading and taking long walks. She especially enjoyed playing pretend with her great-granddaughter and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her granddaughter, Jennifer Southworth of Evans City and her great-granddaughter, Felicity Scott of Evans City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Jerry Southworth; and her brother, Dean Schweinsberg.

SCHWEINSBERG — A memorial service for Lela Joyce Schweinsberg, who died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 Jefferson St., Butler.For more information, go to www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
