Cook heats up, SV wins Moon Tourney

Jack Cook scored a career-high 30 points as the Seneca Valley boys basketball team routed West Allegheny 70-42 at the Moon Tournament.

Cook was 11-of-11 from the free throw line in the victory.

Chris Hart added 12 points and five assists for the Raiders (2-0).

Bethel Park 74, Mars 72 — Robby Carmody scored 23 points, but the Planets were done in by Bethel Park in overtime.

Josh Duda scored 24 points for Bethel Park, including eight in overtime.

The Raiders also had six second-place finishers.

Chartiers-Houston Tournament — Butler junior Caleb Baxter won the 152-pound weight class to help the Golden Tornado place third.

Hickory Tournament — Alex Hornfeck (113) placed first and Noah Wright (160) second for Mars as the Planets finished eighth.
