Renaissance group offers tourFREEPORT — The Freeport Renaissance Association will host its annual Christmas house tour during Freeport’s celebration of Christmas Friday through Sunday.Tour hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Stops will include a 1910 house with 20 decorated trees and an expansive nutcracker collection, a house and law office formerly owned by the brewmaster of the Guckenheimer Brewery and the Freeport History Center.Tickets are available at the Freeport Area Library, 428 Market St., and at The Canvas Art and Gift Shop, 237 Fifth St. During tour hours, visitors can buy tickets at the history center, 210 Sixth St.Shuttle service will be available from the former kindergarten center, 408 High St.Proceeds will benefit the Freeport Renaissance Association.For more tour information, visit the association on Facebook.

‘Polar Express’ Night set Dec. 8ZELIENOPLE — The Zelienople Public Library, 227 S. High St., will host its annual “Polar Express” Night at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 8.Participants will read the book “The Polar Express,” make a craft and meet Santa. Children are encouraged to come in their pajamas.This program is free, and registration is not required.For more information, call the library at 724-452-9330.

Christmas cookies availableMARS — Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, will host a Christmas cookie sale.Homemade cookies can be ordered by calling 724-538-8672.Pickup times will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Dec. 12 and noon to 1 p.m. Dec. 13. Although some cookies will be available to purchase during pickup times, the organizers recommend ordering in advance.

North Trails slates Frosty programWEST SUNBURY — Children in kindergarten and first grade will have the opportunity to get acquainted with Frosty the Snowman at a “read and see” program at 4 p.m. Dec. 12 at the North Trails Library, 1553 W. Sunbury Road.Children will read the book, see the movie and make a craft.
