2 drivers hurt in afternoon crash on Route 38

OAKLAND TWP — Two men were injured this afternoon in a head-on crash on Route 38.

The accident happened about 1:30 p.m. in front to Balls Beer Distributor.

A gray Ford Ranger pickup truck driving north was making a turn into the beer distributor when it was hit by a red Ford Ranger pickup truck driving south, according to police at the scene.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

Speed was not believed to be a factor.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts. Neither vehicle had any passengers.

Fire police reduced traffic on the road to one lane briefly while the trucks were towed.

State police, the Oneida Valley Fire Department, the Butler Ambulance Service and the East Butler Ambulance Service responded to the call.
