Most families will cook turkey Thursday to mark Thanksgiving. But there are so many recipes that it can be hard to find the right one.

With that in mind, third graders at Dassa McKinney Elementary School wrote their own instructions for how to cook a turkey.

Here is what one student wrote.

Have you ever tasted my turkey? This year mom is leting me make the turkey. First, we go to Miley’s market ane I pick a fat turkey. Mom pays the man $20. Then we drive home and bring the turkey inside. I cut up the turkey. Next, the fun part. I put salt and pepper on the turkey. Mom puts the turkey in the oven. The turkey cooks for half an hour. Yes, it’s ready. I ask the cat for his opinion before I serve my friends. This is the best turkey ever.
