Caroling tradition continues in MarsMARS — Christmas caroling for Mars, a longtime tradition for the Mars Girl Scouts, will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Shop ‘n Save, 201 Grand Ave., and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at McGinnis Sisters, 700 Adams Shoppes. Donations for needy families will be collected.The carollers will be Girl Scouts from Trefoil Service Unit, which serves the Mars area. Christmas tea slated in FreeportFREEPORT — United Presbyterian Church of Freeport, 411 High St., will host a ballerina Christmas tea from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.Tickets are available at The Canvas, 237 Fifth St.; the Freeport Library, 428 Market St.; and by calling Sue at 724-295-2041.

Arm knitting class offeredThe Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will offer its first class for Arm Knitting 101 at 6 p.m. Dec. 8 at Alameda Park, 184 Alameda Park Road.In this introductory class, Yvonne Bartmas will teach participants how to knit with their arms. By the end of the class, each student will finish a scarf in shades of black, gray and white.
