Butler Twp PoliceWednesday — Police arrested Richard A. Miller Jr., 23, of Tyrone, Blair County, for possession of a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct after officers were called to the area of the Fairfield Inn for a man who was reportedly using a controlled substance in the rear lot area.

State Police, Mercer6:25 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Tenille S. Harry, 37, of Volant crashed into the back of a garbage truck on Route 19 just south of Rachel’s Roadhouse.Police said the truck had just started to drive away from a trash pickup when it was struck by Harry’s car.Harry was taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries. Her car had disabling damage and was towed. She was cited for following too closely.The garbage truck had minor damage and was driven from the scene.Monday — Bruce & Merrilees of New Castle reported someone stole two wooden spools of copper wire valued at $3,000 from the First Energy substation on Route 173 in Pine Township, Mercer County.Wednesday — Ron Kreps Drywall of Youngstown, Ohio, reported unknown suspects stole tools at a site on Oakley Kelly Road in Springfield Township, Mercer County. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 724-662-6162.

State Police, KittanningWednesday — Police are seeking information on unknown suspects who broke into an abandoned home on Worthington Slatelick Road in West Franklin Township, Armstrong County.Owner Donald E. Claypoole, 60, of Worthington reported the burglary occurred between Sunday and Wednesday. The unknown suspects forced their way through the front door of the home and broke all the light fixtures inside. A TV and several windows also were damaged, and the suspects spray painted the walls of an upstairs bedroom.Total damage to the residence was set at $500.Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 724-543-2011.Sunday — A 43-year-old Saxonburg woman is facing criminal charges after being caught driving without a driver’s license. Police stopped the woman, who they did not name, on Route 422 in Worthington. She had previously been convicted numerous times for driving with a suspended license, police said.Charges are pending.

Grove City PoliceWednesday — Police are investigating a theft from a motor vehicle on Stewart Avenue in Grove City. An unknown suspect entered a silver Hyundai sedan and took sunglasses and a power cord. Anyone with information is asked to contact Grove City police.
