SAXONBURG — A Penn Township veteran who sought public help to raise money for a service dog for himself will be the honoree at a fundraiser this month.

The jamboree will be at 3 p.m. Nov. 21 at VFW Post 7376, 572 W. Main St., Saxonburg, and be hosted by the Tri County Music Association.

It will raise money for U.S. Army veteran Shane Stadtmiller, who suffers from a traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder. The money will go to a service dog for Stadtmiller.

Fundraisers say they are closing in on their goal of $15,000.

The event will feature musical acts of the Shalico Family, Touch of Country Band, Sarah and Friends Band and others.

It will include food and raffles. Tickets will be $5 at the door.
