Edythe L. Tirk

Edythe L. Tirk, 89, of Butler died Thursday at her home.

She was born March 14, 1926, in Pittsburgh.

She retired from Castle Rubber in East Butler, and she previously worked at Butler Stamping.

Edythe had belonged to the Universe Bowling League, the Jolly Girls Bowling League, several golf leagues in Butler and was a member of the VFW and the Elks auxiliary.

Surviving is her daughter, Nancy Davis and her husband, Ed, of Butler; one son, Bob Tirk and his wife, Kim, of Gibsonia; seven grandchildren, Ed Davis III, Jack Bollinger III, Gail Graham, Melissa Kelch, Bob Tirk Jr., Kristen Tirk and Samantha Tirk; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Tirk, who died Dec. 13, 1983; a daughter, Cheryl Bollinger; and two grandchildren.

TIRK — Friends of Edythe L. Tirk, who died on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.Interment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
