City police arrest woman in Concordia theft cases

Ricki Lee Double

A woman accused of posing as an employee of a Jefferson Township assisted living facility to steal money from two elderly residents is behind bars.

Butler police Sunday morning arrested 31-year-old Ricki Lee Double, who was wanted on state police charges that she stole $120 from an 89-year-old man’s wallet at Concordia Lutheran Ministries on Oct. 11.

The next day, investigators said, she returned to the facility and took $150 from the wallet of a 94-year-old man.

District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Double, who has no known address, on two felony counts of trespass and two misdemeanors counts each of theft and receiving stolen property.

She is in the Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail.

State police had been looking for Double since Tuesday when they obtained an arrest warrant for her in connection with the Concordia thefts.

Butler police Sunday learned that the suspect was in the city and about 11:45 a.m. surrounded the Terrace Apartments.

“She was arrested after she tried to flee from the rear of the building,” said Butler Deputy Police Chief David Adam.

When officers caught her, she had items including coins and jewelry, that police believe she possibly stole from homes and vehicles.

Anyone who may be missing property that Double could have taken is urged to call 911 and ask to speak with a Butler police officer.

Double, a single mother of two children, has an extensive criminal record, including two dozen felonies for crimes primarily targeting elderly victims.
