KC keeps winning

Gremlins improve to 6-0

Unbeaten Karns City put together a total team game in posting a 44-0 high school victory at Union Friday night.

The Gremlins (6-0) limited the Golden Knights (2-5) to 66 net yards. Union completed only one of 15 passes on the night.

“Our defense was outstanding tonight,” KC coach Ed Conto said. “No one really stood out. That unit had a great game as a team.”

Colin Dunmyre rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns for the Gremlins while Chandler Turner had 80 yards rushing and a touchdown. Cullen Williams threw for 89 yards and a TD, ran for 49 yards and a score.

Jacob King also threw a touchdown pass for KC. Evan Stitt had six receptions for 112 yards and a score. Trevor Scott caught a 24-yard TD pass.

“Evan was tremendous tonight. He really had a big game,” Conto said. “Union has some good offensive weapons and they can be dangerous.

“This was a nice win for us.”

Punxsutawney 23, A-C Valley 6 — Lane Chalmers, who finished with a team-high 106 yards rushing, scored on a 71-yard run for the Falcons (0-6) only score in a home loss.

The Chucks outgained A-C Valley 364-186.

Sharon 36, Grove City 6 — Kameron Patterson therew for 217 yards and a touchdown for the Eagles (1-5), but was intercepted three times. Logan Lutz had three receptions for 81 yards and Grove City's lone score.

The Eagles managed only 56 yards rushing in the loss.

Golf

Grove City's Kyle Shingledecker shot an 83 at the District 10 Championships to advance to the PIAA Western Regional.
