Students have roles in show

Costumer Kim Brown helps student actor Logan Rowland of Wexford with his wardrobe for “An Ideal Husband,” which opens Friday at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center.
Season opens Oct. 16 with Wilde comedy

MIDLAND, Beaver County — Oscar Wilde’s comedy “An Ideal Husband” opens the 2015-16 season at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center and features Butler County students.

The show runs Friday through Sunday and Oct. 16 to 18. Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Sundays in the Black Box Theater, 1 Lincoln Park.

Period costumes and elaborate set design lend to the setting in 1890 London, England. Set over a 24-hour timespan, “An Ideal Husband” opens at a swanky dinner party and follows a cast of characters who manipulate others for their own means.

Wilde dramatizes a clash in ethical and philosophical value systems, posing the figure of the dandy against a set of more respectable, “ideal” characters.

The cast includes Emily Appel and Jackie Appel, both of Slippery Rock; Justin Atta, Abby Gumpper and Jake Warren, all of Cranberry Township; and Logan Rowland of Wexford.
