Bored at work, Harmony man charged with child pornography

LANCASTER TWP — A Harmony man who looked at child pornography while bored at his job has been charged with multiple counts of child pornography.

Raymond J. Fischer Jr., 60, was arrested Friday by state police on 50 counts of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.

On Oct. 13, 2013, the Beaver County State Police Criminal Investigations Unit responded to the Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station to investigate a report of an employee who had been found with child pornography, according to court documents from District Judge Joseph Schafer’s office in Aliquippa, Beaver County.

The initial investigation found that 51 images of child pornography were in Fischer’s locker, the documents state. The images depicted multiple nude females about 10 to 16 years old in sexual positions.

Fischer admitted that the images were his and that he had viewed them on his office computer. He printed them out using the printer in his office.

Fischer stated that he put the images in his locker and looked at them when he was bored. He also admitted that he frequently downloaded child pornography images using the computer at the station, which is owned by the First Energy Nuclear Operating Co.

From June 1, 2013 to Oct. 10, 2013, Fischer accessed multiple websites with names associated with child pornography.

His preliminary hearing will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Judge Schafer’s office.
