The Oakview Ladies Golf League raised $13,750 for the Women’s Imaging Center at Butler Memorial Hospital from its 16th annual Breast Cancer tournament at the Oakview Golf Club.

Proceeds got to buy equipment and technology that helps in the detection and treatment of breast cancer.

“The constant dedication and support of this group has helped us create a vision of better health for the women of Butler County,” says Cindy Schooley, supervisor of the Women’s Imaging Center. “I am inspired that this group continues to dedicate their efforts toward breast cancer awareness and treatment.”

For several years, funds were raised to buy a new Tomosynthesis unit, a 3-D mammography unit that will be installed at Butler Health System’s new Medical Office Building on Oneida Valley Road. The center will move there in November.

Since the golf tournament began in 2000, nearly $150,000 has been donated to the center.
