Butler County's great daily newspaper

Coming out party

I am writing today to come out of the closet — not the one that comes to mind, but the political closet.

I have tolerated an inundation of hatred of our president. I have heard Ted Nugent tell Hillary Clinton to sit on his machine gun. I’ve had enough.

I was fortunate enough to attend the Pennsylvania State Democratic Party meeting in Gettysburg, where I heard all three Supreme Court judicial candidates speak; David Wecht, Christine Donohue and Kevin Dougherty are truly doing everything they can to win this historic election (Three seats have not been vacant on the State Supreme Court since 1704).

So to support the judges on the ticket and also Kevin Boozel and Jerry Johnston for Butler County Commissioner, I decided to put a sticker on my car that reads, simply, “DEM”.

If you don’t agree with me, please stop giving me the finger in traffic.

As Admiral Joe Sestak once told me, he loves to get to events early to talk to his opposition to engage them ... which I can’t do with my daughter in the car on my way to the grocery store.

For the first time, I’d like to let everyone know that I am a Cranberry Township resident and a proud Democrat. There are more like me and I hope to see you voting on Nov. 3.
