LOS ANGELES — Actor Jim Carrey says he was shocked and saddened to learn of the death of ex-girlfriend Cathriona White, likening the news to being hit by a lightning bolt.

The 30-year-old makeup artist was found dead in a Sherman Oaks home on Monday, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. Her death was being investigated as a possible suicide.

In a statement released Tuesday, Carrey said that White was a “kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil.” He said his heart goes out to her friends and family.

The 53-year-old Carrey dated White briefly in 2012. They were photographed together again in May.

LOS ANGELES— A divorce filing by “Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco says the actress and her husband of 20 months have a prenuptial agreement.

Cuoco filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court citing irreconcilable differences. Cuoco and tennis pro Ryan Sweeting married in a New Year’s Eve ceremony in 2013. The filing states they signed a prenuptial agreement in November 2013 that will dictate how the divorce is resolved. The pair has no children together.

The filing states Cuoco and Sweeting separated recently, but it provides no further details about the breakup. Cuoco’s publicist said that the couple had mutually agreed to end their marriage.
