Butler PoliceMonday — Cody Lee Reynolds, 29, no known address, was arrested for allegedly breaking into his mother’s apartment on South Cliff Street last week.Police suspect Reynolds kicked in the door about 4:40 p.m. Friday after his mother, Janie Reynolds, would not let him into her home, according to court documents. She already had a protection from abuse order against her son, police noted.Officers searched the area but did not immediately find the suspect. The door’s chain lock was damaged in the suspected break-in.Police subsequently arrested Reynolds, who was arraigned Monday afternoon on a charge of burglary. He was placed in Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail following arraignment.4:44 a.m. Sunday — Shannon M. Kuzma, 22, was arrested after she allegedly assaulted Alias Solo during a domestic dispute at a Ridge Avenue home. Solo suffered minor injuries.Witnesses also told police that Kuzma tossed a dresser out the front door and threw a stool through the living room window, court documents said. She was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and placed in Butler County Prison on $1,500 bail.Wednesday — Police arrested Brett L. Whitmire, 36, of Butler on charges he stole more than $2,000 in jewelry from a home on the 300 block of East Brady Street.The suspected jewelry theft was reported Sept. 20. Later that same day, according to court documents, officers found Whitmire on the 100 block of West New Castle Street after responding to a suspicious vehicle call.Police also learned that state parole officials were looking for Whitmire. A search of the suspected turned up a crack pipe in his pocket. Officers also found him with several pieces of women’s jewelry and a receipt from an area gold store.The receipt, documents said, showed Whitmire had sold four pieces of jewelry at the store for $81 earlier in the day.Police later took the jewelry they found Whitmire with to the presumed owner on East Brady Street. She identified the items, valued at $2,025, as hers. She also identified as hers the jewelry described on the store receipt police took from the suspect.Whitmire was arraigned on a felony charge of receiving stolen property and misdemeanor charges of theft by deception and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is free on his own recognizance.Wednesday — Jared T. Biedenbach, 18, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop about 9:50 p.m. Aug. 28 at East Cunningham and South Cliff streets.Police said Biedenbach, after being stopped, admitted drinking beer and smoking marijuana earlier in the day.Officers noted they saw an opened box of beer in the car. The box contained 18 cold cans of beer, documents said. A later search of the vehicle turned up a marijuana pipe and a cellophane wrapper with suspected marijuana residue.The teen was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results subsequently confirmed the presence of marijuana and alcohol in his system.Biedenbach is charged with driving under the influence, DUI by a minor, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, underage drinking, driving with an open container of alcohol, careless driving and a stop sign violation.9:37 p.m. Sept. 21 — Adam R. Took, 29, was caught allegedly huffing cans of compressed air at his home on Spring Street. Police were called after Took’s mother reported her son was inhaling canned air.Officers recovered several empty cans throughout the home. Took, who appeared impaired, “admitted to huffing at least four cans of compressed air tonight,” a police affidavit said.He is charged with illegal use of certain solvents and noxious substances.

Butler Twp PoliceMonday — Police charged Sean D. McJunkin, 38, of Butler with intentionally driving a vehicle into an above-ground swimming pool about 4:40 a.m. Sept. 1 at a home on Colonial Avenue. The incident caused $3,000 in damage.A police report noted that the victim in the vandalism owns the vehicle that McJunkin was driving that day. The suspect is charged with criminal mischief, unauthorized use of a vehicle, disorderly conduct, reckless driving and causing an accident to unattended property.2:45 p.m. Thursday — Two 13-year-old boys were cited following a fight at Butler Intermediate High School. One of the boys’ eyeglasses was broken when he was hit in the face.The boy that was hit in the face was cited for harassment. The other boy was cited for criminal mischief.

Grove City PoliceMonday — Police charged Ronald Lamping Jr., 44, of Slippery Rock with contempt of court stemming from a suspected protection from abuse order violation about 7:30 p.m. Sept. 22 on the 1400 block of West Main Street.2:36 p.m. Saturday — Robert A. Lenhart, 56, of Harrisville was arrested for driving with a suspended license and driving a vehicle not equipped with a court-ordered ignition interlock device following a traffic stop on the 100 block of South Broad Street.Sept. 23 — An unknown thief overnight stole a small amount of money from a vehicle on Uber Way.Sept. 21 — Between $5 and $10 was stolen overnight from a woman’s wallet that she left in her unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of Opre Avenue.

Butler County Drug Task ForceThursday — Tyler J. Duffy, 20, of Callery was arrested on drug trafficking charges stemming from an alleged marijuana deal Feb. 16 in Evans City.Duffy was arraigned on felony charges of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility. She also is charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance,Duffy was placed in Butler County Prison on $1,500 bail following arraignment.

State Police, Butler7:16 p.m. Monday — Assorted jewelry items and unspecified medication were stolen in a burglary at a 54-year-old woman’s home on Route 38 in Oakland Township. A police report did not say if there are any suspects.11:33 a.m. Monday — Mark N. Frank, 54, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on New Castle Road in Butler Township.3:27 p.m. Saturday — Thrissa Beck, 43, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after she was found passed out behind the wheel of a running sport utility vehicle on North Duffy Road in Center Township.Friday — A handgun was stolen in a burglary between Sept. 16 and Friday at a 49-year-old man’s home on Sycamore Road in Perry Township, Armstrong County. The firearm is described as a black Ruger Mark III .22-caliber pistol, valued at $350. Anyone with information is asked to call 724-284-8100.5:12 p.m. Thursday — An unknown vandal damaged a 20-year-old Fenelton woman’s barbecue grill during a party at The Heights apartment complex in Slippery Rock Township.

State Police, Mercer3:03 p.m. Saturday — A woman was hurt when she crashed her car into a tree in Pine Township, Mercer County. Mary M. Hassel, 46, of Jackson Center lost control of the car on Cranberry Road just south of Gasper Road.Hassel, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries.2:15 a.m. Saturday — Tanner S. Barkley, 23, of Mercer was arrested for suspicion of drunken driving after his car flipped several times in Jackson Township, Mercer County.Police said Barkley was traveling south on Springfield Church Road near Milbrook Road when he lost control of his car and struck a ditch. The vehicle went airborne, flipping several times, before landing on its roof in a wooded area.Tanner, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with moderate injuries.
