A-C Valley spikers finally best Clarion

Falcons put end to 10-year drought

Morgan Cratty had nine service points, eight digs, 11 kills and four blocks as the A-C Valley volleyball team defeated Clarion for the first time in 10 years with a 25-22, 25-22, 25-21 win Tuesday night.

Katie Stumpner added 10 digs and six kills and Josey Terwilliger pitched in 13 digs, six kills and two blocks for the Falcons (4-0).

Alyssa Babcock added 10 digs and 14 assists, Halee Wetzel 10 service points and Kiersten Rothen 12 digs and eight assists for A-C Valley, which also won the junior varsity match 25-10, 22-25, 25-21.

Karns City 3, Cranberry 0 — Brody Whited had five kills and Emily Hegedus added four kills as the Gremlins swept the Berries, 25-15, 25-11, 27-25.

Moniteau 3, Venango Catholic 0 — The Warriors picked up their first win with a 25-14, 25-6, 25-21 win over the Vikings. No further information was available.
