Freeport senior quarterback Ryan Weigold passed for 289 yards and five touchdowns to help the Yellowjackets beat Summit Academy 41-0 in an Allegheny Conference matchup Friday at Swartz Field.

Brandon Hochbein had three catches for 109 yards for Freeport (2-0, 2-0). The Knights fell to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in section.

Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic 35, Chartiers-Houston 7 — Mario Latronica scored two touchdowns for the Trojans, helping them pick up a Black Hills Conference victory over the Buccaneers.

Brookville 13, Union 6 — Dugan Gallagher scored the Golden Knights' lone touchdown in their home loss to the Raiders.

Corry 36, Grove City 6 — Corry jumped out to a 22-0 lead at the half as the Eagles dropped their second straight game to start the season.

Corry running back Liam Cragg rushed for 73 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns and also caught a 40-yard TD strike from Bryce Xander.

Grove City's lone score came on a 15-yard pass from Brady Callihan to Logan Lutz in the fourth quarter.

St. Marys 41, A-C Valley 7 — The Flying Dutchmen scored 34 unanswered points in the third and fourth quarters to pull away from the Falcons at home.

A-C Valley tied the game at 7 with 9 minutes, 30 seconds remaining in the third quarter on a 55-yard fumble return for a score by Lane Chalmers. A-C Valley (0-2) was limited to 15 yards of total offense.
