Liberty at risk

The biggest offender of our rights, the federal government, has gorged itself on power, greed and regulatory authority. If we don’t bind the legislators with the chains of the Constitution, then as Jefferson said, “We’ve got a long row to hoe ahead of us.”

By supporting courageous, risk-taking primary challenges to establishment Republicans, liberty minded Americans, independents and tea party folks can help America emerge from the death-grip of Barack Obama and his faux opposition, led by chiefs Rep. John Boehner, Sen. Mitch McConnell and their cronies.

There are some very obvious problems presented by the liberal side of the equation:

The first problem: To undermine all it hates, the Left divides people into groups rather than recognizing all people as individuals made in the image of God. It then serves up social privileges for groups as a way of buying their votes.

The second problem: The Left does not discuss an issue when the opposition takes a different position. Instead, they excoriate and vilify the individual in an attempt to damage their character. They will label opposition as racists, homophobes and worse.

The third problem: Non-Left politicians who should be counted on to do the right thing usually cave on almost any issue under that kind of fire. This caliber of person is not a true representative of the people.

The liberal Left does not believe in liberty as most Americans understand it. That is why the First Amendment is in danger. We could lose it very quickly. That is why the Second Amendment is constantly threatened by the left and we could lose this freedom even more quickly.

We the people need to wake up.

Liberty is a scarce commodity in the world today, it is even more scarce when you examine the history of the human race. America’s Founding Fathers realized that — and created a new nation guarded by a Constitution that strictly limited the power of government.

The Constitution is in danger because there are so few men and women with courage, principle and a sense of right and wrong in politics — in the Republican Party or any other group which sadly, to some, represents the only hope of reversing the socialist, anti-American political onslaught.
