SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University recently announced that it is seeking a partnership with OPTIMA International College.

OPTIMA representatives met with SRU President Cheryl Norton on Aug. 17 and 18 and signed a memorandum of understanding for exploring program collaboration, according to SRU.

OPTIMA is an educational institution founded in 1998 and has campuses in Malaysia, China and India.

A partnership could allow students to take classes at two or three of OPTIMA's branches and then finish their education at SRU, officials said.

It would involve the hospitality, science, technology, engineering and math programs.

BRADY TWP — Jennings Environmental Education Center will conduct a program on honey bees at 2 p.m. Sept. 20.Bees provide a valuable service by pollinating wild plants and crops, but have experienced a decline in recent years.For information on the program, call 724-794-6011.

Various times on Fridays from Oct. 2 to 23.
