Jeffrey 100th birthday
Lillian Jeffrey of Slippery Rock will celebrate her 100th birthday with a private gathering.
The former Lillian Fierst was born Sept. 7, 1915, in Millvale. She married the late Salvator Jeffrey on May 19, 1937, at Madonna of Jerusalem Roman Catholic Church in Sharpsburg.
She has two godchildren, Jo Anne Suwalksi of Pittsburgh and Walter Fierst of Grove City.
She and her husband were truck farmers with farms first in Prospect and later in Erie and Harlansburg. They sold their fruit and vegetables in the Pittsburgh area and in Harlansburg.
Jeffrey traveled the world and enjoyed shopping and sightseeing. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, crocheting, rug hooking and bowling. She walks daily and participates in other exercise.
She is affiliated with St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church. She is a member of the Grange.
