Bailey Trzeciak fired a 37 as the Mars golf team edged Knoch 199-200 at Rittswood Friday afternoon.

Knoch beat Mars by one stroke in a match last season.

Adam Sweet also shot a 39 for the Planets.

Ben Thoma paced Knoch with a 37.

Christian Evanchec and Devin Campbell also carded a 39 for the Knights.

Girls Golf

Bridget Merten and Natalie Welsh both carded 38 Thursday to lead the Planets to a 164-167 win over Butler.

Elena Bilotto had a 43, Myah McGinnis and Allison Bruce each with 45.

Earlier in the week, Mars (3-2) threatened to end Central Valley's 90-match section winning streak, but lost 169-172. Welsh shot a 38 in that match, Merten a 39.

Mars plays Pine-Richland Monday at Conley's.

Butler swept the singles matches with 6-0, 6-0 wins by Savanna Turner, Mercedes Belch and Sydney Hanratty on the way to a 4-1 win over Shaler.
