Methane threat

With climate change breathing down our necks and the harmful effects of methane emissions on our health and safety, the EPA has fallen short of making any significant change in new regulations.

Most people have been led to believe that natural gas is a clean energy source. In fact, because methane is emitted or is leaked during the entire natural gas drilling process, pound for pound, methane is 80 times a more powerful polluter than carbon dioxide.

Instead of a weak attempt to appear to be setting helpful regulations, the EPA needs to ban the extraction of natural gas and set parameters to support the transition into renewable energy sources.

We need tough regulations that make a real difference in the health of citizens and climate change initiatives.
