Sounds of the Season

County symphony opens with guest pianist

The Butler County Symphony Orchestra’s six-concert season begins Oct. 3 with “Music with a Conscience” featuring pianist Cahill Smith.

Other concerts in the 67th season will be:

“Psycho Live @ 55,” featuring Alfred Hitchcock’s 55-year-old classic film “Psycho” from 1960, for mature audiences only, Nov. 7

“Holiday Traditions” with vocalist Kate Amatuzzo, Dec. 5

“Marianne Cornetti Returns” featuring the Butler County native mezzo soprano singing opera arias and orchestral intermezzos, Feb. 6, 2016

“At the Movies,” featuring the music of John Williams from movies such as “Star Wars,” “Superman,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “E.T.” and “Jurassic Park,” March 5, 2016

“Beethoven’s Ninth” with the Slippery Rock University Concert Choir and the Young Artist Competition winner, April 9, 2016.

Concerts will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium, 551 Fairground Hill Road.
