Butler PoliceMonday — Police charged Lorlene D. Meyers, 42, of Jackson Township with bouncing a check for $4,665.88 at Butler County Ford on South Main Street earlier this year. The check was written on a bank account with insufficient funds to cover it. She is charged with bad checks.3:19 p.m. Sunday — Galene M. Gould, 25, of Slippery Rock was found with suspected drug contraband after police found her in an illegally parked vehicle on Whitmire Avenue.A police report said Gould had a bag containing numerous empty stamp bags of suspected heroin, used syringes and spoons. She is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.7:31 p.m. Aug. 18 — A 17-year-old girl and Zachary M. Booher, 20, both of Butler allegedly teamed up to shoplift two bottles of pop, valued at $3.59, from Friedman’s supermarket on West Brady Street.Both suspects are charged with retail theft and conspiracy. Booher has one prior shoplifting arrest.

Butler Twp Police9:40 a.m. Sunday — Rhonda Tyson, 58, of Butler lost control of her vehicle, traveled over the concrete median and struck a sign at East Jefferson Street and Hospital Way. She was not injured but her vehicle had to be towed away.8:55 p.m. Friday — Tina L. Rivera, 47, of Butler suffered an apparent drug overdose at her home in the 200 block of Evans City Road. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.5:19 p.m. Friday — Tyrone R. Hilliard, 25, of Butler was caught allegedly underringing $140 in merchandise, including children’s toys, clothing and a bed sheet set, at the self-checkout at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. He is charged with retail theft.3:16 p.m. Friday — Nicholas R. Hainer, 24, of Lyndora faces a misdemeanor drug charge after he suffered an apparent heroin overdose at a Bessemer Avenue home. Police said Hainer was found unresponsive in the home’s bathroom.The suspect also was found with two empty stamp bags of suspected heroin and a syringe. Hainer is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.12:11 p.m. Friday — Vehicles driven by Noah R. Curran, 18, of Chicora and Joyce Perkins, 22, of Saxonburg collided at Route 8 North and Fairfield Lane. Police cited Curran with making an improper left turn.11 a.m. July 29 — Cortney A. Scott, 23, of Butler allegedly punched out a fire extinguisher case at Butler Memorial Hospital. The alleged crime was captured on video by the hospital surveillance system. Scott is charged with criminal mischief.9:43 p.m. July 23 — Jeffrey Keefer, 43, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after he was spotted running a red light at Duffy and New Castle roads. He is charged with DUI and not stopping at a red light.11:45 p.m. July 15 — Aaron M. Doyle, 29, of Homer City, Indiana County, was found with suspected drug contraband at Butler Memorial Hospital. He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.

Grove City PoliceMonday — Police filed felony and other charges against Theodore R. Yeagley, 40, of Darlington, Beaver County, stemming from the June 29 fraudulent purchase of a vehicle at English Auto on West Main Street. Police said he bought the vehicle using a bogus check.Yeagley is charged with a felony count of theft by deception and a misdemeanor count of bad checks.

State Police, ButlerTuesday — Numerous items were stolen from a pipeline construction site at Clark and Boydstown roads in Concord Township. Among the property taken were seven metal hook shackles, three 10-foot yellow nylon belts and two Miller SuitCase welders.The property, owned by MG Dyess Inc. of Bassfield, Miss., was stolen between Aug. 17 and Tuesday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.1 a.m. Sunday — An unknown vandal damaged two windows at an apartment at The Heights at Slippery Rock complex in Slippery Rock Township.12:55 a.m. Sunday — Erin V. Jaeger, 29, of Dalton, Lackawanna County, was caught with suspected marijuana and other drug contraband following a traffic stop in Slippery Rock Township. Police said Jaeger, a passenger in a sport utility vehicle pulled over on Harmony Road, also appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.In addition to possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, she is charged with underage drinking.Two other passengers — Chloe N. Rye, 19, of Columbia, Lancaster County; and Alexandra M. Smith, 19, of York — in the SUV were also cited for underage drinking.Aug. 19 — An unknown thief stole a tire and rim from an Aluma brand utility trailer at Stivenson Camper Sales on Freeport Road in Jefferson Township. The property, valued at $260, was taken Aug. 18 or 19.7:58 p.m. Aug. 10 — A pair of “quick-change” scammers made off with $100 from the Kwik Fill store on Route 8 in Center Township. Police said the unknown suspects, both black males, entered the store and bought a tobacco product.During the exchange of money, the suspects confused the cashier into giving them $100 in currency.

State Police, Clarion12:10 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Dennis P. Sloan, 48, of Parker, which was stopped in a construction zone, was rear-ended by a pickup truck on Interstate 80 just north of Tippecanoe Road in Beaver Township.The collision, in turn, forced Sloan’s car into the back of a sport utility vehicle driven by Gail Burford, 76, of Oak Ridge, Armstrong County.The pickup driver, Robert D. Brown, 22, of Knox, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, according to a police report.

State Police, Kittanning2:45 p.m. Friday — Two people were hurt when cars driven by Carl R. Barger, no age given, of Karns City and Winifred M. Melendez, no age given, of East Brady collided at Route 68 and Seybertown Road in Bradys Bend Township. Both drivers were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries.
