CRANBERRY TWP — “With a name like Cranberry Township, this city is bound to be sweet,” said an article by Expedia about the 101 Most Comfortable Cities for Travelers.

Cranberry is ranked eighth out of the 101 cities by Expedia for being a comfortable place to visit.

“That is fantastic,” said Kathleen McCaig, township planning specialist. “We are pretty excited to be in the top 10, it is pretty great.”

This designation from the tourism perspective is a “feather in the cap” for the township that people have come to the hotels, restaurants and parks in the township, McCaig said. She noted that this ranking also is good Butler County and Western Pennsylvania.

The ranking is based on survey results from more than 600,000 guests who responded to Expedia’s request for reviews of the community’s accommodations, the release states.

According to the release, when selecting the top sites, Expedia pulled data from millions of verified users reviews by ranking the top 101 U.S. cities with the highest hotel comfort ratings. The reviews were based on items from the comfort of the hotel beds to other amenities in the community.

Expedia characterized Cranberry as, “a quaint Pennsylvania town with a number of inviting parks that attract both visitors and locals,” the release states. It commented on the Community Waterpark, AE Ride Skatepark, Rotary Dog Park, Graham Park, and North Boundary Park in the township.

The top ten cities were: 1. Deadwood, S.D, 2. Crested Butt, Col., 3. Rogers, Ark., 4. Katy, Texas, 5. Marco Island, Fla., 6. Minot, N. D., 7. Wailea, Hawaii, 8. Cranberry, 9. Victoria, Texas, and 10. South Yarmouth, Mass.
