Butler County's great daily newspaper

Why import workers?

It appears Woodspring Suites is interested in building a 122-room, extended-stay hotel in Cranberry Township because of the large number of people in the natural gas industry who are working in Butler County temporarily from out of state.

A $6 million to $8 million project for temporary workers?

One must wonder why the Cranberry supervisors and our state representative are not more interested in high paying jobs being provided for Butler County residents from the natural gas industry instead of importing jobs “from out of state” from the natural gas industry — meaning more jobs for Okies and Texans and nothing for Butler County ex-steel workers.

Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, R-Cranberry, is far too busy ranting about gay marriage and angering whatever governor is in office so that Butler County residents continue to get tax increases from their school district.

Where are Metcalfe’s rants about creating or protecting jobs?

It is far past time for new representatives to be elected — those who have an ear for jobs in Butler County, not building hotels for imported workers.
