Ella N. Smith

Ella N. Smith, 99, of Butler went home to be with the Lord at 4:50 p.m. Friday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Feb. 23, 1916, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late James G. Williams and Bessie M. (Wilhelm) Williams.

Mrs. Smith was a former secretary at the Trinity Church and Truscon Steel in Youngstown, Ohio.

She was a longtime member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Denise Smith Vogado and her husband, Paul, of Maryville, Tenn., and Debbe Picerno and her husband, Jeff, of Butler; four grandchildren, Michele Slone and her husband, Mike, Jessica Perry and her husband, Eugene, Lindy Vogado and her husband, Bobby Williamson, and Christopher Vogado and his wife, Rachel; a step-granddaughter, Danielle Boroski and her husband, Ed; three great-grandsons, Adam and Elijah Perry and George Slone; two step-great-grandsons, Tyler and Shaun Boroski; her daughter-in-law, Barb Smith of Mansfield, Ohio; two nieces; and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Gervin L. Smith, who she married Nov. 27, 1943, and who passed away Jan. 3, 2010; one son, the Rev. James L. Smith, who passed away in June 2009; one brother; three sisters; and one nephew.

SMITH — Friends of Ella N. Smith, who died Friday, July 31, 2015, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will follow immediately at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis W. Molnar, pastor of Wallace Memorial Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, officiating.
