Gary Lee Bollinger

Gary Lee Bollinger, 76, of Pine Township, Grove City, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Grove City Medical Center following a lingering illness.

Gary was born Sept. 11, 1938, in Grove City to William F. and Dorthy Harlan Bollinger. He married Rose Marie Hile on May 13, 1961.

He was a graduate of Harrisville High School, Class of 1955. Following high school, Gary immediately enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1965.

Gary retired from the Maxim Crane Corp. and formerly was employed by Hawk Crane, Mercer, and Steel City, Pittsburgh.

He was an avid motorcyclist and racecar driver. Gary will be sadly missed by the McDonalds morning coffee group.

Gary is survived by his wife, Rose at home; two sons, David Bollinger and his wife, Bernadette, of Grove City and Duane Bollinger and his wife, Tammy, of Slippery Rock; his mother, Dorthy H. Bollinger of Harrisville; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Joan Dickey and her husband, Bruce, of Slippery Rock, Kathryn Workman of Fruitland Park, Fla., Ruth Meahl and her husband, Richard L., of Fruitland Park, Fla., and Janet Morris and her husband, Michael, of Monroe Falls, Ohio; and one brother, William H. Bollinger and his wife, Sue, of Carmel, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his father and one son, Curtis Lee Bollinger.

BOLLINGER — Visitation for Gary Lee Bollinger, who died Wednesday, July 29, 2015, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Avenue, Grove City.A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Stuart Strachan, pastor of Tower Presbyterian Church, officiating.Burial will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
