RAYBURN TWP, Armstrong County — State police are searching for a man who escaped from Armstrong County Prison this morning and is a suspect in a homicide investigation.

Robert Edward Crissman, 38, escaped from the jail on foot about 6:30 a.m. Police believe that he stole a maroon 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with a union carpenter sticker on the back window.

He is 5 foot 9 inches tall, 150 pounds, has strawberry blonder hair and blue eyes, according to police.

Other information about the homicide was unavailable Thursday afternoon.

Crissman's criminal history includes multiple counts of theft, trespassing, drug possession and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Anyone who sees the stolen pickup truck or has information about Crissman's whereabouts is urged to call 911 or state police in Kittanning at 724-543-2011.
