Kidd 100th birthday

Harry Kidd

Harry Kidd of Butler celebrated his 100th birthday with a family dinner at Nixon United Methodist Church in Butler, a reception at Hill United Presbyterian Church in Butler and a party at Newhaven Court at Clearview.

He was born July 28, 1915, in Butler. He married the late Anna Lehnerd on May 24, 1941, in Franklin.

He has four children, Loretta Donaldson of Butler, the late William Kidd of San Antonio, Francis Kidd of Novato, Calif., and Jane Rak of Ellwood City.

He also has nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Kidd retired from Armco where he worked in silicon maintenance. He is a U.S. Army veteran and was stationed in Germany soon after V-E Day.

He is a lifelong member of Hill United Presbyterian Church.

For many years, Kidd enjoyed woodworking. When he moved to Newhaven Court, he began making things with cardboard. He decorates about 300 toilet paper tubes for each holiday, fills them with candy and sends them to nursing homes, Meals on Wheels and a preschool.
