Donna R. Stewart

Donna R. Stewart, 87, of Butler, formerly of Hooker, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Saturday at the Butler Inpatient VNA Hospice.

Donna was born July 2, 1928, in Butler. She was the daughter of the late Merle Wonderly and the late Frances A. Ringer Wonderly.

Donna was a member of the Concord Presbyterian Church for more than fifty years. She served as deacon and elder.

In her early years she had been employed at Peoples Telephone Company and at A.E. Troutman's department store. She retired as a clerk in the death claims department at OPM in Boyers.

Donna is survived by one daughter, Cathy Sheppard of Butler and one son, Mark (Judy) Stewart of Hooker.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Andy (Melissa) Stewart of Slippery Rock, Elizabeth Stewart of Hooker, Thomas Sheppard and Steven Sheppard, both of El Paso, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Emma Stewart (daughter of Andy and Melissa); one brother, Thomas Wonderly of York, Pa.; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Stewart, who she married June 12, 1947, and who died Oct. 10, 2000, and one sister, Dorothy Steinheiser.

STEWART — The family of Donna R. Stewart, who died Saturday, July 25, 2015, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Additional visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Concord Presbyterian Church.Funeral services will follow at the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. James Steiner, interim pastor of the Concord Presbyterian Church, officiating.Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to Operation Christmas Child/Samaritan's Purse, P.O.
