Woman hurt in Monday night rollover crash
MARS — A woman was hurt in a rollover wreck late Monday night, authorities said.
The woman, whose name was not immediately available, was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry with unknown injuries following the crash about 11:15 p.m. at Gilkey Drive and Pittsburgh Street in Mars.
Borough police are investigating but an accident report was not available this morning.
A 911 call reported a woman was injured and trapped inside a Chevrolet Sonic that had rolled over on Gilkey Drive, authorities said. It was not known if the woman was driving the car or a passenger in it.
The Callery Volunteer Fire Company and Adams Area Fire District as well as Quality Ambulance assisted at the scene.
The crash apparently involved electric lines because a Penn Power crew was also called to assist, authorities said. Firefighters remained at the scene until about 1:10 a.m. today.
Telephone calls to Mars police and the Callery VFC were not returned this morning.
