Abandoned house burns down in Middlesex Twp.

MIDDLESEX TWP — A vacant house on Glade Mill Road that was to be demolished burned down this morning.

The fire was reported shortly after 7 a.m. The house, at 297 Glade Mill Road just east of Lennon’s Auto Body, was abandoned, and no one was injured.

Township police Officer Conrad Pfeifer said the house had a demolition permit. He said the cause of the fire was unknown and is under investigation. Pfeifer did not know who the owner of the house was.

Officials from the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Company could not be reached for comment this morning.

Firefighters from Middlesex, Penn Township, Saxonburg, Adams Area and Richland responded to the fire.
