Butler Police9:37 p.m. Saturday — Police deployed Tasers in arresting Brian S. Kennedy, 43, of Butler following a confrontation with officers in the 500 block of West Wayne Street.Officers initially found Kennedy after being called for a large fight in the area. Police told everyone to get back into their homes. Kennedy remained outside and “approached officers in an aggressive manner,” according to court documents.Police said the suspect appeared to be intoxicated. When officers tried to arrest Kennedy he took an “aggressive stance,” police said. Two officers deployed their Tasers and police used a “substantial amount of force” to arrest the suspect, documents said.District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Kennedy on charges of resisting arrest and public drunkenness. He was later placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail.Thursday — Two teenagers were arrested on charges they broke into a vacant house last month.Police said officers were called to the house in the 600 block of West Penn Street shortly after 11:30 p.m. June 19 and found the suspects — Chase A. Akmal, 18, of Butler and Damian R. Hall, 19, of Clearfield Township.A girl, who police did not identify, was also with the men. There was no furniture in the house, which had caution tape across the front porch.Akmal, Hall and the girl all claimed they had the owner’s permission to be there, according to court documents. Officers later contacted the homeowner, who denied giving the trio permission to be in his home.District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Akmal and Hall on charges of trespass, a felony. Both defendants are free on their own recognizance. It was not immediately known if the girl has been charged in juvenile court.

Butler Twp. PoliceMonday — Police charged John D. Clark III, 48, of Butler with his third offense for impaired driving in connection with a traffic stop at 3:54 p.m. June 20 on Route 8.Clark is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, driving with a suspended license-DUI related, being a habitual offender of driving under suspension, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.Additionally, he is charged with driving with an open container of alcohol, disregarding traffic lane and careless driving.Monday — William Bailey, 57, of Harrisville was charged with drugged driving stemming from a May 17 traffic stop at Moraine Pointe Plaza.In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Bailey is charged with careless driving, disregarding traffic lanes and a stop sign violation.1:43 p.m. Sunday — A 16-year-old suspected shoplifter is accused of stealing four items of clothing valued at $42.64 from the Butler Commons’ Walmart. The youth, who police did not identify, is charged with retail theft.11:05 p.m. Thursday — An alleged fight at Old Plank Estates landed two Butler men in trouble with the law. Police said they cited the suspects, 38-year-old Anthony Perez and 46-year-old Joseph Kauer, with disorderly conduct and harassment.7:06 p.m. June 26 — Vehicles driven by Tina M. Hribal, 54, and Jacob Marcinko, 32, both of Butler, collided at Benbrook Road and Greenwood Drive. Police cited Hribal for improperly approaching and entering an intersection.

State Police, Butler4 a.m. Sunday — Benjamin D. Carlson, 25, and Leelynn E. Lindsay, 19, both of Harrisville were arrested following a fight at Carlson’s home on Barr Lane.Both suspects had been drinking alcohol throughout the night when an argument turned physical, according to court documents. Carlson is accused of hitting Lindsay in the side of the face and grabbing her by the neck.Lindsay is accused of biting Carlson’s left leg. Both suspects suffered minor injuries.District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned the defendants on charges of simple assault and harassment. Lindsay also is charged with underage drinking.Following arraignment, Carlson and Lindsay were placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail and $3,000 bail, respectively.1:30 a.m. Sunday — Maxwell J. Bowers, 22, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 68 at Route 38 in Center Township.2:08 a.m. Saturday — Richard C. Double III, 24, of Lyndora was more than triple the legal limit for alcohol when he was arrested for suspected drunken driving in Butler.Following a traffic stop at North Main Street at Manor Lane, police gave Double a breath test at the barracks. The tests showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.259 percent, according to a police report. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.1:50 a.m. Saturday — Dakota M. Taylor, 22, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Hannahstown Road in Jefferson Township.5:36 p.m. June 13 — Tyler J. Dimaria, 19, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 8 at Mercer Road in Center Township.1:55 a.m. June 7 — William Cramer, 55, of West Sunbury was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Claytonia and Hall roads in Clay Township.

State Police, Kittanning2:31 a.m. today — Police suspect a 23-year-old Freeport man was drunk when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a guardrail several times on Route 28 in Harmar Township, Allegheny County. Drunken driving charges are pending against the suspect, who police did not identify.

State Police, New Castle1:14 a.m. Sunday — An unidentified vehicle damaged a utility pole in a hit-and-run crash on Route 488 in Perry Township, Lawrence County.Police believe the unknown driver was speeding westbound on Route 488 and turning right onto Lovers College Road when the vehicle crashed into a guide wire, which caused the pole to break.The suspect drove away west on Lovers College Road. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call police at 724-598-2211.
