Enforce noise laws

If you live in Butler Township and have any concern over noise from local bars you should plan to attend the Butler Township meeting on tonight (July 6) at 6:30 p.m.

Currently the Pennsylvania State Police Liquor Control Board enforces noise in Butler Township. As referenced in the June 17 Butler Eagle, the township has been petitioned to take over noise enforcement. The owner of one establishment on Greenwood Drive is looking to change the law rather than comply.

The current township ordinance is vague and unenforceable. If the supervisors vote to take over enforcement of noise, local bars will have free rein to make all the noise they want. Not to mention the additional strain put on our local police force.

If this issue concerns, you please plan to attend tonight’s meeting.
