Miller helps Saxonburg to victory

Ben Miller’s bases-clearing double in the sixth inning secured for Saxonburg a 6-4 legion baseball victory over Karns City on Friday.

Jeremy Frazier added three hits and two runs scored and Garrett Traggiai two hits and one run batted in.

A trio of Saxonburg pitchers — Frazier, Logan Hickey and Gavin Miller — combined to strike out 12 and surrender just four hits.

Caleb Yough had two of Karns City’s hits, including a two-run home run.

Ian Steighner and Chad White both singled twice in East Butler’s 4-2 win over Center Township on Friday.

Alex Seybert added a double and Tyler Markilinski and D.J. Osche both singled once for the victors.

Meridian’s Nick Robinson threw a complete game, helping Meridian beat Saxonburg 2-0 Thursday night at Highfield Park.

Robinson struck out five batters and scattered five singles to earn the win. Saxonburg’s Gavin Miller struck out nine batters over innings.

Cody Laue (two singles), Jacob Stutz (single) and Nick Malis (single) all contributed hits for Meridian.

Garrett Traggiai (two), Logan Hickey, Randy Carter and Jeremy Frazier all had singles for Saxonburg.
