Friday — Police issued a plea for the public’s help in solving a shooting earlier this month that left a Georgia man injured. Troopers about 10:15 p.m. June 7 found the victim, 29-year-old Jasper Lee McIntosh of Atlanta, at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Springfield Township with a gunshot wound to the hip.

Police do not where the shooting happened. Investigators said the hotel’s video surveillance system showed two people in a white, 2015 Dodge Charger drop off McIntosh and another man outside the hotel’s lobby.

The car, which drove away, was later found abandoned behind a Dumpster at a nearby construction site. The vehicle had several bullet holes in it. Troopers searched for but were unable to find the two people, later identified as a man and woman from Youngstown, Ohio, who were seen driving the car that left the victim at the hotel.

Investigators said McIntosh and the other man, also from Atlanta, who was with him gave troopers “varying stories about how the shooting had happened,” according to a police report.

Both men claimed the shooting happened “on a freeway somewhere,” but they refused to provide further details.

While police have not determined where the shooting took place, they said the suspect said it happened “quite some distance from” the motel. Police also noted the two people in the Dodge Charger have failed to contact police.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the barracks at 724-662-6162.

Wednesday — A knife was stolen from a Slippery Road man’s home on Rosepoint Harlansburg Road in Scott Township. The unknown burglary also broke into another home on the same road. Nothing was taken from the home.

The burglaries happened between June 22 and Wednesday.
